West Tarring Bowls Club was formed in 1924. For some 20 years it played its home matches on a green in the Thomas A’Becket area of West Worthing. It was this location that gave the club its nickname of The Bishops. Shortly after the war, the land on which the green was situated was sold for development so the club moved to its present location at Field Place.
The club is a mixed club which is affiliated to EBA, EWBA, SCBA, SCWBA and W&DBA. At present the greater majority of our members are gentlemen.
If you are interested in joining a friendly, mixed club, whether you are just taking up the game of bowls, new to the area and seeking a local club or just looking for a change of environment, we would be pleased to hear from you.
The bowling abilities range from those who are new to the sport to experienced players who have represented the County.
During the season the club plays league, cup and friendly matches as well as hosting internal competitions and a regular club afternoon. Use the External Competitions and Internal Competitions buttons for more information. |
